Pareto-Efficient Set of Modulation and Coding based on RGMI in Nonlinear Fiber Transmissions

Abstract

We compare various modulation formats and variable-rate LDPC codes based on required GMI in nonlinear fiber transmissions. Pareto-efficient pairs of modulation and coding are identified to achieve both higher spectral efficiency and higher nonlinearity tolerance.
