Demonstration of the First 29dB Power Budget of 25-Gb/s 4-PAM System without Optical Amplifier for Next Generation Access Network

Abstract

The first 29dB power budget of 4-PAM modulated 25-Gb/s transmission is proposed without optical amplifier. By introducing pre-compensation in Tx and DSP in Rx, -23dBm receiver sensitivity is measured based on low-cost commercial 10-Gb/s TOSA/ROSA.
