Abstract

We report a 8.96 Tb/s transmission over 20×75 GHz channels, using 56-GBd 16QAM signals with 1.14 samples-per-symbol Nyquist pulses. Wideband and spectrally-sliced optical receivers’ performance is compared, yielding 1500 and 1250 km transparent reach, respectively.
