Impact of Polarization Mode Dispersion on Digital Nonlinear Compensation Algorithms in Dispersion Unmanaged Systems

Abstract

We report the impact of PMD on the performance of Nonlinear Compensation algorithms. We demonstrate that Q2-factor gain provided by algorithms is degraded only by 0.1 dB for values of DGD up to 150 ps.
