PDM DDO-OFDM with Self-Polarization Diversity for the Backhaul of Radio-over-Fiber System

Abstract

A self-polarization diversity mechanism in a polarization division multiplexing direct detection optical OFDM radio-over-fiber system’s backhaul is proposed and demonstrated to double the channel capacity and service coverage without polarization tracking mechanism and receiver modification.
