Vision-based alignment of optical fibers to planar optical waveguide device

Abstract

This paper has proposed a methodology for position detection, and angle and spacing adjustment, for optical waveguide chips and optical fiber arrays, based on machine vision. The experimental results of automatic aligning are reported.
