Space-Division Multiplexed Multicore Fiber Mach-Zehnder Interferometer for Joint Temperature and Strain Sensing

Abstract

We proposed a novel multi-parameter sensor with in-line Mach-Zehnder interferometer in multicore fibers to measure the temperature and strain simultaneously. The cross sensitivities are eliminated and the relative measurement error is less than 5%.
