Optical Spectrum Analysis with a Resolution of 6 fm Based on a Frequency-Swept Microwave-Photonic Source

Abstract

A full-polarization optical spectrum analyzer is proposed based on a frequency-swept microwave-photonic source and balanced photodetection. A resolution of 0.75 MHz (6 fm) and a dynamic range of >57 dB were experimentally achieved.
