Network Utilization Improvement Using Format-agnostic Multi-channel Wavelength Converters

Abstract

We demonstrate the effectiveness of multi-channel, format-agnostic, all-optical wavelength converters (AO-WCs) in improving network utilization. Simulations show doubled network utilization with significantly fewer AO-WCs and experiments confirm successful multichannel conversions over full operating wavelength range.
