MIMO-Free Transmission over Six Vector Modes in a Polarization Maintaining Elliptical Ring Core Fiber

Abstract

We demonstrate an elliptical ring core fiber featuring vector modes with high stability and linear polarization states. We achieve six vector mode channel transmission over 0.9 km of 32 Gbaud QPSK without MIMO/PDM signal processing.
