Strongly-Coupled Five-mode Ring-Core Fiber for MDM Transmission with MIMO DSP

Abstract

The group delay spread reduction induced by a constant bend is experimentally confirmed using a five-mode ring-core fiber. Five spatial modes were successfully transmitted using a low-loss multiplexer composed of a five-core bundle.
