First Field Trial Demonstration of Hitless Defragmentation with Signals Overlap in Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate for the first time hitless spectrum defragmentation exploiting signals overlap in a field trial. Spectrum resources are shared without signals loss. The defragmentation procedure was successfully verified through 32Gbaud PM-QPSK-TFP signals over 1320km installed fiber.
