Abstract

First real-time 25-Gbit/s burst-mode operation of an integrated SOA-PIN/TIA receiver for future generation T(W)DM-PON is presented. The device has a 2.7-dB better sensitivity than APD photoreceiver and 13-dB better than PIN photoreceiver at this bitrate.
