Abstract

We demonstrate up to 9% reach gain provided by symbol-rate optimization (SRO) with PM-16QAM subcarriers in WDM transmission. Applying an ideal CPE, we also discuss on the potentially achievable SRO gains enabled by enhanced phase noise compensation.
