Integrated InP Polarization Rotator Using the Plasmonic Effect

Abstract

An InP based polarization rotator is demonstrated using the plasmonic effect. It operates as a half-wave retarder. Simple device structure ensures large fabrication tolerance. The device exhibits polarization extinction ratio of 20 dB over C-band.
