Numerical Estimation of Nonlinear Impairments in a 62.5 µm MMF for MDM Transmission

Abstract

The nonlinear propagation in a multimode fiber using 78 spatial modes is investigated numerically. We show that nonlinear impairments are no obstacle for using fibers with such a high mode count for mode-division multiplexing.
