100km quasi-lossless fiber-optic transmission with a novel cascaded random Raman fiber laser

Abstract

Ultra-long distance (100km) quasi-lossless fiber-optic transmission is experimentally performed by using the 3rd-order Raman amplification pumped by a novel 1280nm cascaded random Raman fiber laser, which is the longest quasi-lossless transmission system reported to date.
