SVM-Modified-FFE Enabled Chirp Management for 10G DML-based 50Gb/s/λ PAM4 IM-DD PON

Abstract

We propose a novel machine learning based equalization algorithm for bandwidthlimited IM-DD PON in C-band. 50Gb/s/λ PAM4 transmission is demonstrated over 20km SSMF using a 10G-class transmitter with 21dB loss budget without amplification.
