Abstract

An approach of backscattering Rayleigh light detection has been prosed to compensate the nonlocal effect in BOTDA. A hotspot has been measured accurately at the end of the 39-km sensing fiber. Brillouin frequency shift error of 13MHz induced by 2dBm probe power has been corrected.
