Direct Detection of Pilot-Assisted PAM Signals for DCI and Metro Networks

Abstract

We propose a pilot-assisted direct detection scheme with digital carrier regeneration in DCI and metro networks to realize 112-Gb/s CFP-LR4-100G optical module, 56-Gb/s duobinary and PAM-4 signals over 160-km, 640-km and 720-km SSMF transmission, respectively.
