Abstract

In recent years, artificial neural networks (ANNs) have been increasingly used to enhance the performance of optical fiber sensors for the distributed measurement of strain and temperature. This paper reviews ANN-based approaches for improved and accelerated raw data processing, denoising, as well as higher-level tasks such as event recognition and classification.
