Single-Wavelength Terabit FSO Channel for Datacenter Interconnects Enabled by Adaptive PCS

Abstract

Using coherent optics we demonstrate a seamless fiber-FSO l ink f or DCIs supporting up to 1 Tbps. PCS-based bit-rate adaptation and automatic beam alignment effectively counteract the impact of pointing errors. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest reported FSO bitrate using single-wavelength transmission.
