High Capacity and Long-Haul Transmission with Space-Division Multiplexing

Abstract

We report on recent wideband, high-capacity transmission experiments using either few-mode or coupled-core multi-core fibers. We show that the coupled-core multi-core fiber has overall favorable transmission properties at the cost of a lower spatial channel density.
