Reach Extension for 100 Gb/s PAM-4 IM/DD Transmission by Chirp Managed Laser

Abstract

We demonstrate the first chirp managed laser (CML) supporting 100 Gb/s PAM-4 IM/DD transmissions over a record dispersion range of -70 ps/nm to +53 ps/nm considering KP4 FEC and a low complexity 7-tap FFE.
