Precise Longitudinal Power Monitoring over 2,080 km Enabled by Step Size Selection of Split Step Fourier Method

Abstract

We propose a step-size optimization scheme of the split-step Fourier method for longitudinal power profile monitoring. We observe only a 1.06-dB root-mean-square error from the theoretical power profile for a 2,080-km transmission link.
