Dynamic and Efficient Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Communications by Slicing the Optical Constellation

Abstract

Optical Constellation Slicing is proposed to convey heterogenous traffic from a source to multiple destinations, while supporting dynamic capacity allocation. Illustrative numerical results reveal the potential of the proposed scheme, while providing significant cost reduction.
