Ultra-Low-Complexity MAP Demapper for Bandwidth-Limited Pluggable Coherent Optics beyond 800G

Abstract

We reveal the benefit of adding a MAP demapper in bandwidth-limited coherent systems, and study a simplified MAP algorithm achieving a comparable performance with the conventional MAP for 100-GBd 16/64-QAM with more than 8-fold complexity reduction.
