Polarization Sensing with Transmission Fibers in Undersea Cables

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

We show that from the state of polarization of the received signal transmitted in an undersea cable, information on geophysical events occurring on the ocean floor and surface can be extracted without disturbing the ongoing data communication.
