Bandwidth Reconfigurable Optical Switching Architecture for CPU-GPU Computing Systems with Shared Memory

Abstract

We propose a reconfigurable optical switching architecture for shared-memory CPU-GPU systems. System-level simulations show improved execution time and energy efficiency up to 34% and 25% respectively compared to a static point-to-point architecture for specific application sets.
