Neural Network-Enhanced Optical Phase Conjugation for Nonlinearity Mitigation

Abstract

Using a multi-layer perceptron to equalise the residual nonlinearity from the transmission of PDM 28 Gbaud 64QAM over 400km of SSMF employing midlink optical phase conjugation, we demonstrate 12-fold reduction in the BER.
