Any-Double-Link Failure Tolerant Bypass/Backup Switchable WDM-PON Employing Path-Pair Shared Protection and Bidirectional Wavelength Pre-assignment

Abstract

We propose two-of-four long-link failure tolerant path-pair shared protection and bi-directional wavelength pre-assignment for robust bypass/backup-path switchable wavelength-division multiplexing based coherent optical access network systems that experimentally achieve < 2-dB penalty for any double-link failure.
