Practical Entropy Loading Enabled by Enumerative Sphere Shaping with Short Block Lengths

Abstract

We propose a practical entropy loading scheme using enumerative sphere shaping, providing considerable shaping gain even with ultra-short block lengths. In the experimental validation, up to 6.0% capacity improvement is achieved.
