Abstract

Various oils can run sequentially in a pipeline without any buffer between them. The design and development of a fiber-optic system for color and turbidity measurement of refined oil are presented (Fig. 1). Field tests were performed, and results are discussed. Optical fibers are used to carry white light from the check room to the pipeline, and they carry colored light back. An additional fiber carries back the scattered light to a photomultiplier.
