Abstract

It is important to control a single longitudinal mode of semiconductor lasers for long-distance and high bit rate optical communications as well as optical fiber sensors. Distributed feedback (DFB) lasers are one of the most promising longitudinal-mode stabilized lasers. Here, resent progress in DFB lasershave been obtained have been summarized.
