Abstract
The efficiency of the fiber optic system realizing spectral filtering of an optical signal is mainly determined by the dispersive properties of selective elements. High-quality all-fiber optical selectors can be fabricated on the base of single-mode couplers since the dispersion of the coupling constant C of the coupler leads to a sinusoidal variation of the coupling ratio r with the wavelength [1]. We have concentrated our efforts on the dispersion sharpening of fused couplers.
