Abstract

Mitsubishi Precision Co., LTD (MPC) has developed closed-loop interferometer type fiber-optic gyros (I-FOGs) with 0.02°/h(1σ) and 1°/h(1σ) bias stability. The flight test of an inertial navigation sytem with our I-FOGs was successfully performed aboard a space rocket of the Institute of Space Astronautical Science (ISAS). And a rate sensor package is planned to be used at the flight test of a penetrator for evaluating the penetrator's motion. This paper presents the characteristics of the I-FOGs and the above mentioned inertial systems.
