Abstract

Optical fibre interferometers are described for single-point and full-field physical measurements, applied in industrial research and testing. Applications of extrinsic sensors include the measurement of displacement, surface shape, vibration and acoustic emission for condition monitoring and design validation. Applications of intrinsic sensors include heat flux and unsteady gas temperature measurement for aerodynamic design.
