Low-Cost Intrinsic Fiber Optic pH Sensor using Sol-Gel Immobilized NIR Dyes

Abstract

An intrinsic fiber optic pH sensor based on a sol-gel immobilized acidochromic acridinestyrile dye is presented. The absorption maximum of the applied dye at 670 nm wavelength fits well to the emission of cheap GaAlAs laser diodes.
