Temperature Error Analysis for a Distributed Temperature Sensor Based on Stimulated Brillouin Scattering

Abstract

For a Brillouin scattering based distributed temperature sensor, we investigate how the accuracy of temperature determination depends on the signal to noise ratio and the measurement process. A simple analytic expression is compared with a statistical approach.
