Abstract

This paper reviews the basics of the interferometric fiber-optic gyro : Sagnac effect, reciprocity, all-fiber components, integrated optics, signal processing principles, and recent trends like multi-axis gyro with source sharing or multiplexing, and erbium-doped fiber source.
