Abstract

We present investigations to improve the Brillouin OTDR fiber sensing performance and to reduce the technical sensor effort. The realized Brillouin sensor employs all-solid-state lasers with a high optical power. The use of a dual-frequency laser, that have a mode spacing close to the Brillouin frequency, allows to simplify the beat signal processing.
