Abstract

The implementation of a distributed optical fiber sensing system in a long-span cable-stayed bridge for monitoring the deformations throughout the construction process and the results obtained therein are described. Twelve lines of distributed optical fiber strain sensors were embedded in the bridge and the strains measured were recorded. The results obtained showed a good correspondence to the progress of construction.
