Mid Infra-Red Gas Sensing Using a Hollow-Core Photonic Bandgap Fibre

Abstract

An all silica photonic bandgap fibre capable of sub dB m-1 transmission in the mid infra-red is presented. This fibre is demonstrated for the first measurement of gas absorption above 3 µm using an all silica fibre.
