Optical Fibre Intensity Sensor Referenced by Stimulated Brillouin Scattering

Abstract

An optical fibre intensity sensor referenced by stimulated Brillouin scattering is presented. The sensor uses Fresnel reflection at the sensor fibre end and employs an adequate relationship between Brillouin and Rayleigh scattering and Fresnel reflection.
