High spatial resolution Φ-OTDR with long sensing distance

Abstract

A high spatial resolution Φ-OTDR that can achieve sensing distance of 75km without any optical inline amplifier and spatial resolution of 0.95m is presented. To our knowledge, the sensing distance is the longest in Φ-OTDR-based distributed vibration sensing without optical inline amplifier and with sub-meter spatial resolution.
