Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases are leading culprits of the mortality worldwide. A fiber Bragg grating based label-free immunosensor is demonstrated for diagnosing acute heart disease which can be featured by the level of cardiac biomarkers in patients’ blood. The detection limit of 6 pg/mL to the cardiac troponin I, a type of cardiac biomarker, is obtained by the proposed biosensor, satisfying the standard of the early prevention on the acute cardiovascular disease.
