Abstract

This work presents fine-tuning of spectral response and increase in refractive-index sensitivity up to almost 26,000 nm/RIU of an microcavity in-line Mach-Zehnder interferometer micromachined in an optical fiber. The improvements are achieved through femtosecond-laser-based widening and deepening of the microcavity.
