Temperature Compensation of Interferometric and Polarimetric Fiber-Optic Current Sensors with Spun Fiber

Abstract

We theoretically and experimentally explore intrinsic temperature compensation of fiber-optic current sensors with spun highly birefringent sensing fiber by means of a fiber retarder. We find significant differences between interferometric and polarimetric sensors.
