Deformation of the Brillouin Gain Spectrum under Spatially and Temporally Nonuniform Strain

Abstract

We modeled the shape of the Brillouin gain spectrum (BGS) produced in an optical fiber wherein spatially and temporally nonuniform strains are simultaneously produced. On the basis of BGS observation experiments, the validity of the model is demonstrated.
