The use of fiber Bragg gratings in the detection of the rhythmic masticatory muscle activity during bruxism episodes

Abstract

We report the use of fiber Bragg gratings to determine rhythmic masticatory muscle activity in bruxism episodes. The method consists in the monitoring of hyperactivity in a patient wearing the occlusal device instrumented with sensors.
